The Reprogrammed Systems Approach is based on the principle that the human body is a remarkable design, consisting of the ability to take on the many challenges of the world, supporting the individual through a long, healthy life. However, the mismatch between the modern world and the body’s natural design has resulted in the dysregulation and dysfunction of the systems supporting the human body, creating space for Modern Disease to set in. Fortunately, this dysfunction can be avoided, and in many cases even reversed.
The core idea central to the Reprogrammed Systems Approach is the process of Reprogramming your body to its optimally designed state – that is, a state of metabolic homeostasis, along with a strong, durable body built to last over the decades. Put simpler, the Reprogramming Process is designed to help you and your body achieve and maintain good health.
This process is necessary given the horrendous state of health of the modern world. The norm in this day and age is to all but ignore our health, instead choosing to live off of industrial not-so-foods, live sedentary lifestyles, and suffer under the burden of chronic stress. The result of this choice is a life burdened by modern disease, consisting of a life dependent on modern medicine, including long lists of medications with side-effects and, in many cases, regular surgeries to manage the physical breakdown of the body.
The word choice is here on purpose – although many of you will retort that it is not a choice to live this way, I will argue to the contrary. You may argue that your chronic stress is a product of your job and family and that there is nothing you can do about it. You may argue that you cannot afford to eat healthy foods, and you may argue that your busy life leaves you no time to work out, prepare healthy meals, or relax.
I understand these feelings and frustrations because it is true that it is often incredibly difficult to eat healthy, manage stress, or find time to move your body. But to say that it is impossible given your life circumstances – I think that is worth a second look.
The truth is, we live in an abundant world filled with so many options and opportunities to achieve our goals. Although your path to eating healthy, moving your body, and managing stress may look different from the well-off individuals shopping at Whole Foods or the gym rats with all the time in the world to build up their muscles, to say that there is no option for you to achieve the same sort of good health is just plain false.
A primary aim of this page is to help you understand this idea that good health is an option for anyone. Although change is hard and your unique life circumstances may make becoming healthy more difficult as compared to others, becoming a healthy individual is completely in the realm of possibilities – you just have to find the approach that works for you.
The honest truth is that you have a choice. You can take the time, now, to get over your current habits, preferences, and lifestyle choices taking you down the road of poor health, or you can take the journey along with the rest of the modern world that is headed in the awful direction towards modern disease.
Now, understand that I am not asking you to take the entire leap all at once. This transformation does not have to happen today, this week, nor even this month. Rather, all I ask of you right now is to consider the idea that you have a different option than that of a life burdened by low energy, excess weight, long lists of prescriptions, and regular visits to the clinic or hospital. For now, just consider the possibility that there is a life for you in which you go through the day with high, stable energy, you have a strong, healthy body that enables you to do all you wish to accomplish, and a life where you do not give a thought about a medication or surgery.
Once you have considered this idea, opening you up to the possibility that change can happen, I encourage you to join me here where I establish what the Reprogramming Process will entail.
