Research and Models

The purpose of this page is to collect my thoughts on the science behind health and disease progression, and also to help in your education on how the human body functions to keep you healthy (in contrast to how dysregulation and dysfunction arise, progressing over time to disease states).

There are three ways in which I do this:

  1. Systems Biology: My reading of the scientific literature and my thoughts related to individual articles, all organized based on specific sub-systems and functions.
  2. The Reprogrammed Systems Models: My own models that I have been developing to help integrate all of this knowledge and to apply it to the specific challenge that is making healthy decisions for the human body.
  3. Blog posts (from my left brain) where I use words (and basic graphics) to think through health-related concepts. (Note that these articles are written as technical explanations of physiological concepts; if you want simpler posts - and ones that come more from my right brain - check out the Upward Slopes blog)
